I have been watering my venus traps from the bottom like ...
3β pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
Hi!! Good job on watering them from the bottom -- you're on the right path! :)
Make sure that you never let them dry out as they are bog plants, and also make sure that you're only using distilled or rainwater.
Chances are that it probably needs more light. They love love love light! 6-8 hours of direct sunlight (preferably outside) or around 14hrs under atleast a 40watt growlight works. Mine sit outside in 6-8 hrs direct sun, and develop beautiful reds inside of the traps.
If you've got any questions I'm happy to answer!

I agree with whatβs been said, they can be very particular plants but remember that older traps do begin to die off after a certain amount of time. You can find more helpful information under #CarnivorousPlants and @Seymour gives great advice
@CleanAllotropa Hi Alisa, by heads do you mean the traps? Cutting a trap off after it dies off after digesting a prey doesnβt result in new growth there but the remaining leaf may still produce energy as these plants principally reply on photosynthesis for energy and any prey digested provides a βfertilizerβ boost. Check out #cpclubthursday and the posts there about VFTs and other CPs. Once a trap is closed about 3 times it becomes βexhaustedβ and will no longer work and will die while new growth will occur from the center of the plant.
@CleanAllotropa I only cut off a trap once it turns black. It can still open up several more times
