My Chinese Evergreen looks different . Mine says very hardy , Can live in low light with no issues, just they don't like to dry out totally, so keep moist but not wet.
See!
I definitely agree with @DaringColtsfoot I have one too.
There are many varieties of Chinese Evergreen. They should not be in direct sunlight. It will burn their leaves. They have some of the lowest light needs of house plants. Some people can even keep them with only artificial light.
Jolly Good!
Absolutely! Honestly they hate direct light, mine gets all dramatic and floppy if a sunbeam hits it, but is more than happy in its slightly-shady little corner. Just make sure to keep an eye on it and adjust lighting accordingly!
@GoldLilacoxalis Yes!! your plant looks great πŸ‘πŸ» ! I even see a white flower shoot so it’s happy. I have about 14 different Aglaonema plants and none of them get direct sunlight. It will scorch the leaves and kill the plant. I have 3 Red Siams which are the same variety as yours shown. I have one under a grow light because it gets no direct sunlight exposure at all. That is the plant that’s growing the biggest and it even has a flower shooting up. The other two plants are in my atrium, one is 2 feet from south facing window and the other is 2 feet from a northwest facing window. I do have grow lights in my atrium as well so they receive some subsidized light. Keep doing what you are doing. Its working. On watering, as someone noted, keep the soil moist not soggy but they prefer evenly moist soil. I tend to water my Siam varieties every 5 to 6 days.
@SweetAzurebluet oh my goodness Harriet, the colors on your plant just blow me away. That is stunning. 🀩
@Shells_Garden Thanks much, my dear! πŸ˜‰
@Shells_Garden yes, all 3 of your β€œAglaonemas are gorgeous! The colored planters really set them off!
Absolutely Beautiful 😍
