Ferns are very slow to recover but resilient - I would cut off any dead leaves with sharp snips, make sure he is kept in indirect sunlight and high humidity if possible.
As long as it has good roots and room to grow, with light and water it should recover.
I’ve attached photo of fern that I figured was dead ☠️ but when replanted and after a few months, they started to grow back.
I did put liquid fertilizer in the self watering pot with the water. 💦 Good luck!
