Spots on leaves?

This plant had some spots on its leaves when I got it, so I cut the damaged leaves off, but even new leaves are coming in with these spots. What's causing this and what can I do about it? #RoseCalathea

I didn't mean to send that yet sorry there is more I will give you my tips to keeps them healthy.

1. Distilled or rain water ONLY

2. Interior walls to keep temps stable

3. If you can add humidity by clustering plants together. Adding a pebble tray, or a humidifier. Do NOT mist it leads to fungal infections.

4. Add aeration to your soil you want about 50% aeration so plenty of oxygen can reach those root. That will also help you prevent root rot.

5. Don't keep your plant wet it can dry out a bit between watering but never let it dry out completely.

6. Indirect light they really like grow lights. I avoid windows because of the temperature fluctuations.

7. These are heavy feeders a good quality fertilizer will be a huge benefit. Liquid fertilizer is best it is absorbed easier and give an instant boost of nutrients.

It’s more than likely a watering issue. They prefer to have that perfectly moist soil...not too dry & not too wet. You may consider giving her a spray with neem just in case it’s fungal. I always like to cover all my bases. I’m curious to hear from others to see what they think.
My question would be what are you watering her with?

It looks like a tap water mark. The chemicals in tap water will cause unsightly marks on rose calathea, actually ALL prayer plants. It leaches out of the pores and sort of burns them. They are incredibly sensitive to it.

When I bought mine it also had these marks because plant shops are not going to go around watering all the plants with distilled water. It will disappear eventually if you start using distilled water but it takes a while because it's already absorbed through the plant. Eventually if you start with distilled water your plant will stop having the marks but it does take a few months.
