If a bloom is forthcoming, expect to lose some leaves in preparation for the bloom. Just as in Peace Lillies, if ur losing leaves, watch & u will soon see a bloom. As it takes more of the plants energy to produce a bloom than a leaf or even to sustain energy required to keep a healthy leaf/leaves, any plant will sacrifice leaves for blooms. It’s Physiology of anything living. The human body does the same in the form of inflammation. I won’t bore I w a class just know that blooms will always cost ur plant some leaves but it all works out in the end. Rather than preying when u see a loss of leaf on a blooming plant, get excited for the birth of a bloom I do caution everyone tho, if u purchase a plant w and existing bloom, please cut it off when u get it home. I know how it sounds but by doing so, u may be preventing urself from dealing w/a case of thrips invasion. I learned this the hard way w/a peace lily. I was so excited she came with 3 blooms, I missed the pin-prick hole in one and those pests go for the sweets (neater) first so please listen to what I say! U will always get more blooms but depending on an infestation, it will take a 6-wo course of treatment multiplied by how many plants that one bloom affects and u can do the math (I had 3 affected & it was the longest 6 weeks of my life!!). On that note, gorgeous plant, no worries about leaf droppage and please keep in touch, let me know know if you u need help w/anything; even if it’s (God forbid) the treatment of a thrips invasion! I’m here for u if u need me!! Good luck luck & keep those pics coming!!🫢🏼πŸͺ΄πŸŒΏπŸŒ±
It’s blooming, that’s a flower! Congratulations 🍾
@Bee_Balmer Yep! It’s flowering! That’s as good as it’s going to get tho! I always cut mine off and there shortly after I get several new beautiful leaves! It spends a lot of energy blooming so as long as it has its flower it won’t do anything else! Clip Clip! Mine always appreciate it afterwards! Good Luck and Congratulations!πŸͺ΄πŸŒΊ
