Dry ? But soil is moist

Could any of you give me insight on this button fern. The outer leaves look OK and feel OK but the inside is all dry and crunchy. The second Pic is just to illustrate how far it is from light. The picture and the plant tagged is my original picture of it. ๏ฟผ๏ฟผ

These desperately need humidity. Do you know how humid the air is around the plant?

It could also benefit from a pebble tray to help raise the humidity around the plant. ๏ฟผ
@sarahsalith looks like about 73% humidity in the house. Maybe I should move to bathroom? Bathroom does not receive any direct light, just artificial lighting
@Mfagen I'd try that. I saw you picture of how far away it was from the window and I assumed it wasn't getting direct light.

You'll have to wait a few weeks to see if it is making a difference.
@Mfagen I agree with @sarahsalith. It needs humidity desperately. The pebble tray is an awesome idea. Just add water to the pebble tray and keep adding as it dries up.
Iโ€™ll give it a try. Thank you.
I found that mine does not like for water to sit on the leaves after watering. I use one of these bottles to water it or let it sit in a bowl and suck up water from the drain hole.
