Do you keep the glued rocks on the bamboo ?

Last watered 2 months ago
@Araceae it came in a white vase with glue rocks lolβ¦ thereβs no soil, just glued white rocks. So how do I water it? Whatβs the purpose of the glued rocks?
@PoisedFanpalm can you post a photo? I'm still struggling to comprehend the glued rocks
Hi Immaculata π it's actually really common to get lucky bamboo like that. It SHOULD be plant safe adhesive... But I'd try and gently pry it off, just in case. I'm not sure why they do it tbh... Like I'm not sure why some growers still use death cages on houseplants π but yeah I'd get that stuff off as gently as you can.
If it's not restricting the roots, or obstructing drainage, you technically don't have to... But, like you, I'd worry about it making life difficult going forwards (& you've no way of knowing if the glue they used is ok for your plant, and not just some cheap epoxy that's mildly toxic or something!)
I keep my lucky bamboo in a tall glass with about an inch of distilled water (please don't use tap water, they HATE it! π) xx

@PoisedFanpalm Oy, drives me nuts when places glue plants into rocks π I always chisel them out...carefully
@PoisedFanpalm it's most likely water-soluble glue, so you could also try soaking the entire thing in a bucket of water for a few hours to loosen it all up.
