Hi, mine are all kept in the clear plastic pots. They do really well there, and I just take the whole pot and soak it in rain water every 1-2 weeks, let is drain, and put it back. They're doing really well. I know they're supposed to grow from trees 'upside down' so I imagine they'd love to be mounted on bark, would love to see if anyone has examples!
Depends. Pots are great if you don't want to water every day. Mounts need more daily care. But I do have two miniature orchids (not phals) on a mount and they love it. And I'm considering mounting two of my bigger phalaeopses as well. There are just some orchids that prefer their roots to be as airy as they can be.
Personally, I have mine in clear pots growing in orchid bark. I find them super easy. I just drench them once a week and let them drain
