How do you count rain for outdoor plants?
I just put a few potted plants outdoors until the fall. Do yβall mark outdoor plants as watered every time it rains? This is my first time trying to take really good care of outdoor plants. What do you all do for yours?
If it helps, I have a corn plant, evening primrose, and a lily on my south facing patio and a couple of petunias in hanging baskets. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #outdoorblooms #NewGrowth #Dracaena #Petunia #eveningprimrose #lillies

So as a super helpful answer... it depends π«£.
After a rain I go through my watering tab and look at the outdoor plants and will decide whether to water or not based on how soon they are due to be watered.
For example, if a plant got soaked and it's due to be watered tomorrow, I might just wait to mark it watered until tomorrow so it doesn't have any change to the watering recommendations.
On the other hand If a plant had just been watered the day before I might just not mark it at all and just wait to water it on it next watering day.
As a bonus, we are trying to figure out the best way to handle rain for outdoor plants and are working on a couple solutions.

Hey, @RJG! What about a "Yo it rained" button. (:
@EagerPhlox - I make them like Drew does. I have my outdoor plants grouped together and when we get a good downpour, I go through my list. Sometimes it sprinkles, but sometimes plants go swimming. π¬

@RJG kind of unrelated, but what about having multiple plants in the same pot? I have a few succulent varieties in the same pot, and usually try to pot ones together that require similar water schedules, but itβs not always perfect.
Is Greg working on anything where you can indicate certain plants are potted together in the same pot so it can have a more accurate watering schedule?

@RJG thatβs super helpful! Thanks!! Also really glad yβall are working on a solution with the app
@CreepingIvy we are talking about it but it's very complicated. So consider that very, very, early stages!
Your method of grouping succulents with similar water needs is wise and a good start. I have two different cultivars of hoya kerrii in the same pot so I am definitely eager to figure something out. βΊοΈ

@EagerPhlox I totally agree π― with @RJG and @sarahsalith
