Those are the same things I get on my Piper plant. I wouldn't toss it - it's okay. (:

They are mineral deposits found on the backs of the leaves and on the stems. They start out like little clear/white, small balls and turn black over time.
is this what it is?
@neeeeeena what book is that ? I’ve been looking for a resource like that. I ran the photo through AI and it says they are “lace bugs.”, which I’ve never heard of. Are the black spots stationary? Sunken? Can you remove then with tweezers? I also see brownspot. Do you know how to treat for pests and fungus?
@TexanExpat it’s a website! the brown spots were there when i bought them a month ago so i didn’t think they were related but maybe they are😐 i have no idea how to treat for any type of pests!! yes they’re stationary and can be removed with tweezers!
@sarahsalith omg thank you SO much!!! i was very scared lol
@neeeeeena you're so welcome! To be honest, this scared me the first time, too! 😉
