Experiment 3: Golden Pothos โœจ

๐ŸŒฟHello there, #Greggers! Back, AGAIN, with another #Pothos experiment for yโ€™all! Today weโ€™ll be talking about #GoldenPothos.

โšก๏ธWhen I tell you this plant grows, this plant grows. Iโ€™m sure most people that own #GoldenPothos already know that these plants always push out growth and never stop growing. Thereโ€™s a reason for that: rooting hormones (Auxin & Cytokinin). *Iโ€™ll put more info in comments.

โ—๏ธThis time, I paired a #GlobalGreenPothos with a #GoldenPothos on June 20, 2022 and checked on it Yesterday, July 11 2022. We have RESULTS! โœจ **With ALL propagations in these experiments, I donโ€™t use products, only Distilled water.

๐Ÿ“ธFirst image shows how FAST Golden Pothos grow! Look at those roots! The Golden Pothos has shown more root growth compared to my other 2 Experiments. I paired one of these cuttings along with a Global Green and look at that growth! Itโ€™s all so beautiful, itโ€™s pushing out leaves already! ๐Ÿฅน๐ŸŒฟโœจ I will always suggest, from now on, to prop anything with a #Pothos!!!

If youโ€™d like to check out my previous posts about these little experiments, check #ScienceWithGreg for more!

Please make a # for your experiments. This is the stuff Iโ€™m all about!
@AlliesTerrarium No one has started the #ScienceWithGreg so Iโ€™m using that at the moment! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒฟ
โ€œThe hormones auxin and cytokinin are key regulators of plant growth and development. As they are active at minute concentrations and regulate dynamic processes, cell and tissue levels of the hormones are finely controlled developmentally, diurnally, and in response to environmental variables.โ€ (NCBI)

Also, those pics were from Yesterday! These are today! Theyโ€™ve grown quite a bit! ๐Ÿซฃ
Interesting experiments. ๐Ÿฅฐ
@LatiTish84 Iโ€™m propagating a SYNGONIUM WITH A POTHOS! I HAVE AN UPDATE GIRL OMG ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜
It's funny cuz golden pothos are the ONLY pothos I've had issues with in the past. The clippings i got for my #monsterpothos are from the golden pothos I got my mom. Well the Hawaiian golden pothos was a clipping and the roots for that DID grow crazy fast. I guess I'll have a golden if these props take off ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
@kscape I have cuttings arriving this week. My plan was just to put a pothos cutting with a philodendron cutting in each vessel. With these results should I just take cuttings from my golden and put them in instead ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” decisions, decisions.
๐Ÿ‘‹๐ŸพHi newbie here! First this science is amazing! Second - if Iโ€™m following correctly, youโ€™re propagating different species of pothos (and sometimes other plants) together - as in in the same container/area? And the benefit is that the golden pothos helps encourage growth in the other plants?
@kscape love your experiments and just joing the new #sciencewithgreg
@TryingMyBest650 Yes! Sorry, I want to add so much more text into the post, but nervous that people wonโ€™t read because itโ€™s too longโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜…

Yes! I am pairing a Pothos with any plant, some other Pothos, some will be slow growing plants such as Philos, Hoyas, etc (anything that is at my disposal ๐Ÿ˜).

I have both cuttings paired in a glass container with distilled water. Theyโ€™re all under a white grow light for 7-10 hours a day. Untouched until I do root checks every 2-3 days!

Iโ€™ve always heard of plants sharing nutrients with others when paired together through propagation. Also, pairing Pothos or Tradescantias helps slow growing plants! I was fascinated, so I gave it a try. I compared cuttings by themselves, as compared to a type of Pothos. Experiment 3 is kind of the start of *Golden Pothos* series I suppose haha!
@kscape this is so cool and amazing!! Thanks for breaking it down for me. Iโ€™m excited to see how these experiments continue to grow!
@kscape do you think the globs green does as well as the golden at propping with other plants? Iโ€™ve got one that needs a haircut and Iโ€™m propping a shamrock. I was thinking of putting the GG in with it.
