Wilted but watered?

This plant has been so confusing since I bought it like forever ago. It’s hardly grown, went down to 1 leaf at one point a while back, then came back with some good growth finally but recently has done this. I’ve followed the advice of Greg so far, regular watering schedule etc and yet it is starting to droop! What would cause that? I’m about to just throw this in the bin. πŸ˜‚

5ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 days ago
Likely the Greg watering schedule is telling you to water too often. How often would you say you’re watering? These like to dry out a bit between waterings, so you must β€œsnooze” the reminder until your plant is ready. If you do that consistently the app will eventually be more accurate.
I Really Appreciate This AAP <{ }
I have this plant as well and the dang thing kick dropped my plant parent confidence πŸ˜‚ I can’t get the stupid thing to have more than 2 leaves no matter what. I’ve had it a year maybe and it looks way worse than when I bought it. I keep saying it will perk up the spring but at this point I feel like I’m fooling myself
@MamaLinne ohh, yeah I wasn’t sure because I also thought the opposite that they liked a pretty consistently moist soil and to not dry out much between waterings. I thought I was letting it go too far between waterings and that’s why it doesn’t grow much or something haha so maybe I’ve overcompensated?? I also have a pebble tray under it. I think I’ve been watering it every 10 days or so? I also feel like this spot it’s in gets pretty dry pretty fast though, the soil still seems frequently dry, it’s confusing haha
@TRose hahahah I feel that!! The picture is from when I first got it, and it’s never looked like that since 🀣🀣
Here my sorry excuse of plant lol. Mine dries out super fast too. I have to water it constantly but if I douse it too often it hates that too 😩 she may be on her way out.
@Stephazar I’m still learning with mine, but I switched it to kind of a chunky soil (1/3 each of orchid bark, perlite, and soil) and put it in a self watering (wicking) pot. Hoping that will keep it moist without being wet. Jury is still out, but it’s a tricky one! Don’t give up!
@TRose it will just don’t over water but in a place where she can get bright indirect light and she will get happy my started blooming again
@TRose it’s to dry losing the soil by using a stick all around so it gets good airflow it like moist soil not soaking wet so don’t let it get completely dry and put it in bright indirect light she will bounce back
Maybe more perlite and orchid bark in the soil so help to keep moisture but the plant won’t be soaking wet
Agree with @MamaLinne on watering. Also, your plant card says you have it under a grow light. These plays tend not to like bright direct light, so consider using the grow light for less time each day and/or turning the brightness level down, if you can. The variegated leaf color fades with too much light.
@Stephazar A droopy Aglaonema 'Pink Splash' usually needs consistent moisture, high humidity, and bright, indirect light to recover. Check for overwatering (mushy stems/roots) or extreme underwatering (dry soil). Ensure the pot has drainage holes, maintain temperatures of (65-75)degrees Fahrenheit and avoid cold drafts.
