@SageLadyfingers when you water the plant do you make sure the top inch of the soil is dry first before you water again? Or does the dirt always stay moist?
@theloveofplants hi, I recently bought an English ivy too and overwatered it. π almost all the leaves on it dried up. Can I still save this plant?
@SageLadyfingers & @ChicAmaumaufern yes overwatering can definitely be a culprit! I have a suggestion you could try. Take the plant out of the pot, remove all the soil from the roots. Wash off the roots. Check the roots for any damage and if there are damaged or mushy roots, give them a little chop. I would then repot the ivy in a pot that fits the size of the rootball, not the size of the plant. When you repot the ivy, use new, dry soil. I would wait a few days to water the plant. Just watering enough to make the soil slightly moist, not soaked.
@theloveofplants thank you Iβll definitely have to do that today. Itβs been a little while since Iβve overwatered her n I havenβt touched her since.
@theloveofplants I follow the watering schedule exactly as this app tells me
@SageLadyfingers - sometimes the app needs to adapt to your schedule too. If the app tells me itβs water day for a given plant - I feel the soil first, no matter what. If the soil is still damp, I βsnoozeβ the notification.
