Oh wow that’s how they grow! I had to remove two leaves due to sun bleaching so now I only have one stem. Wasn’t sure how they grow new ones

They usually lose a leaf before a new guy comes along. Thats why one of those leaves is drooping.

@Frebs now i'm starting to get worried for my Alocasia 'Platinum' grew it's second leaf since i got him [i think it's leaf no. 7?] but none of the leaves has dropped

@Araceae this was my first alocasia. She arrived with a lot of leaves, but lost some and then kept going. Harriet still has two of the original leaves she arrived with. She did have spider mites, but is better now. So far shes been a trooper and hasnt become a cautionary tale.
