HELP!! Whatβs happened to my dumb cane?
Help!! My Dumb Cane is looking very sad π what can I do to help it go back to its beautiful self? #Dieffenbachia #dumbcanehelp
Hi Hayden! The soil looks very dry, but I could be wrong. Can you answer a few questions for us? Does the pot have drainage? Is it planted in a well draining soil? What is your watering schedule? Do you allow the soil to dry out a bit in between waterings? How much sun does it receive daily? What temps does the plant live in?
@Corinne my dumb cane sits about a foot from a SW facing window. It receives 3-6 hours of indirect morning sunlight daily. Itβs planted in a well draining soil with perlite so that it doesnβt get soggy, and the pot has drainage. I let the soil dry out a bit between waterings, so I test the soil to see how dry/moist/wet it is before watering. Keep in mind this will change based on temps and sunlight. The room this plant is in stays in the low 70s. Iβve also made sure the pot size is appropriate for the roots. Itβs about 1β wider than the root ball which also helps make sure there isnβt excess soil holding on to water.
