The research I found has not been very helpful. Hopefully...

2ft to light, indirect
4โ€ pot with drainage
Last watered 2 weeks ago
This is what I found. I think that this is the problem.
It does look like a fungus/mold issue that they can develop from overwatering. I actually killed my beautiful aloe that I bought in memory of my dad due to overwatering. Itโ€™s so easy to overwater these guys. I would spray it with a spray like captain jack and hold off on the water for a bit. Good luck with your lovely plant ๐Ÿค—

@Ninabeena Im sorry that your memory Aloe died๐Ÿ˜”

Thank you for the information. This picture is when I first bought it, and it had the black speckles all over it then, but I didn't realize. Also, I thought about this little planter for him. Do y'all think it's too shallow? That way, I possibly could help him if he's staying too wet. What's your thoughts? Or should I leave him be and focus on not watering him as much?

Thank you๐Ÿ˜Š
@Ninabeena I'll check out this Captain Jack's also.
Succulents have small, shallow roots. Your aloe does not need any deeper pot. On the contrary, a deeper/ bigger pot promotes overwatering.
Does that have a drainage hole ? You definately need a pot with one if it doesnt. And id suggest terra cotta for people learning to care for succulents that dont need much water. Because not all succulents like it dry !

Hi. It does have a drain hole but I'm starting to think that possibly the pot is too big meaning lengthwise. It did have those speckled dots when I bought it but I didn't realize till after the fact. The smaller pot I'm thinking about transferring it to feels like possibly glazed clay. Thank you for your comment any other suggestions I'd appreciate.
