This plant looked so good and now there is only 1 little stem and leaf left on it they all fell off does that mean I’m over watering it or under watering it? #HappyPlants #Dakotabale

4ft to light, indirect
3” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 days ago
Do you have a picture of it as it is now?
@discreetwildyam thank you I think I’ve been overwatering it
@Dakotabale that's what I was thinking. An easy way to avoid it is to just stick your finger in the soil a good 2 inches. If it feels moist, skip a watering. You can also use a wooden dowel/popsicle stick/toothpick too. If you pull it out with soil attached it doesn't need water.
Most likely it's overwatering. It's better underwater than overwater. οΏΌ
@sarahsalith thanks:)
@Dakotabale I meant to say that after I ignored mine for a bit, it started to look better. I just had to find its happy place. Hopefully it'll look even better next year!
@sarahsalith yours looks so good! I hope mine will get bigger if I don’t water it for a while
It looks like you’re watering every few days and I think once a week should be good
@Plantmom6 ok thank you:)

If you've been following the Gregg recommended "every 3 days" schedule then you've definitely OVERwatered your plantbaby, @Dakotabale ...The Peperomia Obtusifolia/Baby Rubber Plant shouldn't need WATERing until its soil has dried to the touch atleast two(2) digits deep... depending on your Hardy Zone, that should average in to biweekly WATERings. Allow your plantbaby to dry out, provide bright, indirect LIGHTing to help with the drying, and your plantbaby will begin to recover, producing more leaves by mid-Summer. πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

πŸ’šπŸƒ Good Luck! πŸƒπŸ’š
@JustPlainDee thank you so much it looks so sad right now
πŸ€— understandable πŸ€—
TruthBeTold, most growers/plantparents have fallen guilty to OVERwatering at some point in our growing times. As we familiarize ourselves with our plantbabies growth needs, we do better...and then, because we're human, we can STILL make a mistake. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ
Don't beat yourself up too much, @Dakotabale, your plantbaby is not "dead" ohkay? Right now, You just have to allow time for it to recover and rebound. Looking "sad" and "sickly" unfortunately is what we have to deal with...but I'm an Ole Skool grower, I don't expect plants to look pretty and perfect all the time. The wait will be worth it once your Peperomia starts producing her pretty leafage again. πŸ™‚

Give your plantbaby the rehab care that I suggested above and she'll be ohkay in a few weeks... this is still its growing season πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

πŸ’šπŸƒ Keep Growing πŸƒπŸ’š
