Leaf or flower?
Hey, Iβm wondering if that top leaf is a flower or not? Iβm not experienced with this plant so Iβm unsure, but it hasnβt brought up any new leafs since that came so Iβm wondering if itβs a flower taking energy or something.
Any advice is helpful!

It's def a leaf. IME with anthuriums they like to take their time with growing leaves, so you can't compare their rate with say a philodendron or monstera.
It is also important to note, these type of anthurium have different flowers from your regular Anthurium andraenum [Painter's Palette]. Anthurium is a huge genus, so it's split into many different sections. Only the section Calomystrium have the large, colourful spathes with thick spadixes. A regular Anthurium andraenum would be In Calomystrium. Anthurium clarinervium on the other hand, as well as other velvet-leaf anthuriums, belong to the section Cardiolonchium. These have much simpler flowers structuresβlong and thin spadix, often green or ruby in colour, and a very long and green spathe.
@DreamMachine might be me, but i also notice on velvet-leaf anthuriums that their leaf might appear stunted or deformed. The leaves that appear later on will eventually look normal

@ArciieCarnall looks like a leaf to me, but perhaps a little stunted or curled? What does your watering rhythm look like? These donβt want to dry out all the way.
@Araceae Thank you, that is good to know! My clarinervum is still so teeny tiny that I havenβt experienced many new leaves yet. βΊοΈ
@Araceae & @DreamMachine thank you both for the answers!
I had thought as much, but I have seen flowers similar on other plants so I was just wondering. Thatβs helpful though. I usually just water when the top soil is dry, but Iβve only had it a couple months :)
