brown leaves?

hello, ive noticed some browning around the edges of the leaves and im not sure why. i water it regularly (weekly) and its in a sunny room. its one of 3 other plants (same species) and its the only one with brown spots. does anyone know why this is happening?
7ft to light, indirect
9” pot with drainage

Hi @HeadWhitegenepì brown tips can be due to a few reasons including watering, quality of water and humidity. You say it’s one of 3 pothos that you’ve got, and the only one that’s doing this? Were they all purchased at the same time from the same place? Care at the store and age of plant can make a difference from one to the next. Anyway check the soil for moisture level and that the soil hasn’t gotten compacted. Try to be consistent with watering, don’t let it dry out too often. Some plants are more sensitive to water quality, especially too hard (minerals) or too soft (salts) so many people use distilled water, rain water or filtered water. Humidity plays a big part - I see you’re in a desert climate and the plants are near air conditioning. You may need to use a humidifier to help these tropical plants out 😊. I have a table top humidifier that I use when the humidity drops. Water is the most common reason. Check for pests and go easy on any fertilizing too. 🙌
@HeadWhitegenepì can you touch the soil and tell me what it feels like? And while you’re up there, give it a good whiff too (smell the soil). Is it really 7 feet from the light and in a 9 inch pot? Is it wilting? Are the tips crispy or soft and flexible?
@MariansOasis Hello, yes, I purchased all of them from the same place around the same time. The soil isn’t compacted, moisture levels are good, I use tap water, there are no pests, and I haven’t fertilized them in a while.
@DreamMachine I checked the soil and it feels normal. It isn’t compacted, and it doesn’t smell unusual. The plant is about 7 feet from the light and is still in a 9-inch pot. It isn’t wilting, and the tips are soft and flexible.
@HeadWhitegenepì flexible brown tips can can sometimes indicate a nitrogen excess OR a nickle deficiency. They present the same way because a deficiency in nickle means your plant can’t use any of the nitrogen, so it builds up. Could you tell me what is in your fertilizer?
@DreamMachine hey, so i checked with my family just now and apparently they havent used any fertilizer on the pothos. i mustve mistaken them for another plant. sorry for the confusion!
@HeadWhitegenepì not to worry. I would recommend moving it a bit closer to the light if you can, and starting a weak dose of fertilizer. Whatever the package recommends I usually start with a quarter of the recommendation and see how it responds. Look for a fertilizer with all the macro and micronutrients, including calcium and magnesium, and bonus if there is silica!
@HeadWhitegenepì hmmm 🤔 well it seems like you’re doing just about everything right! I like @DreamMachine Nadia’s light & fertilizer recommendation 🙌
