I just got a new Boston fern plant. Should I change into ...

#BostonFern
0ft to light, indirect
7” pot with drainage
Last watered 5 days ago
In general it's best to give your new plant a month to acclimate to your home as it'll probably be stressed from the change in environment. Water as needed and keep an eye on how it's adjusting. Then after a month you can check its rootball to see if it needs repotting. If it's rootbound, repot in a container 1-2" larger than the current container. Otherwise it can stay in its container or you can repot in a new container of the same size.

Now seeing that your plant is in a container without drainage, you could take the chance now to repot into something with drainage holes to prevent the potential issues of soggy soil, etc.
Thank you! That was very helpful!
I love Boston ferns and don’t always repot. It keeps the size down. Sometimes I’ll split the whole fern. The new babies are mad at me for a while but they know it’s good for them awhile
Thanks! lol!
