Aerial root or new growth?
Hi there, Iβm still a little new to monstera care, and I just found this little nub near the base of a new leaf. Is it an aerial root or a new stem? Any help is appreciated! #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #Monstera #MonsteraMob

That's an aerial root. New stems usually develop out of the stem of the most recent leaf - though sometimes new growth comes from the base of the plant.
The aerial root can be tucked into the soil - it will help stabilize the plant. Your choice! You can also consider a moss pole or trellis - something I need to consider for my climbing plants as well, lol! Best of luck with your plant friend π€πͺ΄β¨οΈ

@ballondusoleil Thanks so much!! Now that I actually have an aerial root, I definitely need to make a decision on the moss pole front π€
Moss poles seem to be standard for monsteras but might also be prone to mold which I really really don't want in my home - and is why I haven't done anything yet for my climbing plants π¬π« I'm thinking a trellis might be best for me since my area is humid (Canadian PNW). Now to find one that looks nice!
