Does anyone else’s plant bubble when watering it?

I’ve noticed that, sometimes, when I water my plants I can hear the water bubbling down into and through the soil. Just curious is anyone else has had this happen? I just thought about it because I was watering Lemon, and she had intense bubbling sounds and even had actual air bubbles for a moment! #curious #bubbles #Watering

It is the sound of air escaping from pockets within porous soil that is being filled with water. After watering, the air gets slowly pushed up to the surface of the soil and makes those snap, crackle, and pop noises in the process.

Is the soil really dry when you water?
@MeganO ; I would say 50% of the time I notice this, yes. 50% of the time, no. Lol I got this particular plant from my dad last Friday, and I assume he watered it either that day or the day before (Thursday). It was decently moist when I got it. Greg recommended I water it tomorrow, but I’m doing my watering a day early. So it’s either been 5 or 6 days since it was last watered. Edit to add: he probably re-potted her on that day too, so the soil isn’t intensely packed down yet like a plant that’s been in its pot for a long time. But, again, I’ve had this happen to plants that were in their pots for years so πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ lol
Mine do this too, lol! I figure it’s just air escaping when the water pushes it down. We must have some well draining soil which is good πŸ˜‚
@goblinbabe ; This time it reminded me of one of those small bubble water fountains, it was so loud. πŸ˜‚
