What’s your mix?

This is my chunky mix 🫶🏾 this took a while to develop lol #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #ChunkyMix #PlantAddict #SoillessPottingMediums #MonsteraMob #AlocasiaAddicts #PothosPack #PhiloFlock #PlantCorner
@Popcornjoness Nice and chunky!! What plants do you use it with?
@princesspitstop I use this for my Thai Con, all my Philos, Pothos, and a few Alocasia love it too
@Popcornjoness Perfect! I have all of those! Thank you for sharing. 💚
I love how you labeled the picture !! Very straight forward and helpful!! Thank you for sharing (: I would love to give this a try!! 👍🏻
Thanks Aja! That looks like a great mix

@ZarfJade love WTW that’s the enrich powder. It’s a staple in my garden 🪴
What I have for a mix
Is a mixture of sand perlite I have a plot of plant mixtures like miracle grow whip together peat moss I added earth worms that are very active I keep it covered I bag it up b4 summer ends I have a rain barrel as well I put wooden skewers in the pots to help me check them for moisture I also fro mosquitoes dunks in the rain water to kill the gnats I can’t wait to try it with a twist from you
Thanks my 🪴 sista 🪴😊
I've found the bag of orchid bark that contains perlite has smaller chunks.

Worm 💩 is also a good addition to soil mixes.

To make my rooting hormone last, I only sprinkle it on the roots when repotting. I also mix it in a salt shaker with mycorrhizal inoculant which is like probiotics for plants.
@AwesomePlants yep that’s the one I use too
@ZarfJade I usually add some systemic granules right before repotting. It’s been a god send that and the yellow sticky traps
Ooo good mix! I kind of just eyeball mine and also reuse dirt so it ends up being all sorts in there and also whatever I have more/less of at the time. Mostly coco coir or compost, perlite, bark, coco husk, charcoal and worm casings. I scoop out some into a tub if I want to add more of something but that’s vaguely my general mix.
@AwesomePlants I love the Better Grow Orchid mix! Just got some on Sunday from Lowe's to put my newly rooted Hoya in. 💚🪴
Yes! The salt shaker is an awesome idea!! 😁
Thank you for sharing this @Popcornjoness !
I use Mollys Aroid Soilless mix. I use Tropical for all but they have Succulent & Orchid mixes as well. I love Ajas mix & did something very similar prior to Mollys (sans the charcoal) but if u subscribe to Mollys thru Cery Plants; a 10 qt bag is $26 & u schedule ur deliveries (dont buy on Amazon tho price higher, go to web-site) they sctually have a larger size by the yard i know im gonna talk myself into i know its $71 but thats all ive gleaned so far. I love mixing my own but no time and less mess if i just get Mollys. Check it out and see the ingredients. I say either way ur a winner as Ajas recipe is great as well the Mollys so u cant go wrong w either IMO🫶🪴🌿
Ooh very nice!! I’ve been working on getting my chunky mix just right, too, and it has almost all the same ingredients as yours, so I feel like I’m on the right path! I’ve wondered about using clay pebbles in a more traditional mix - and you like it, I assume?! I’d love to try some Alocasias in a cache pot with pebbles but I’m so nervous to try.
@BuffCaperspurge I based my mix off Mollys with a few tweaks for my specific environment love Molly but she’s in the more expensive side and I have hella plants lol
@LaneyLichen do it! I just saved my Jacklyn by doing that. She’s finally thriving. She hated the mix lol
@Popcornjoness yeah i have 4 palms, a BofP, Ti plant and Yucca all to repot & all in 2 gal containers! Ill need a dump trucks worth whichever way i go!!! Lol
HaPpy Pots 🪴oveR heRe settling in for a coZy winter 🪴
