Why did my aloe vera fall out of the pot with no roots? #...

Hello @YesWaiuatua7, it seems to me that it might be a combination of inappropriate soil and a too big pot which is leading to root rot by holding too much moisture for too long. I agree with @debbiedo to place them back and eventually they will grow new roots but, I would recommend a smaller pot or smaller individual pots and a chunky/gritty succulent mix with added amendment like perlite or the like for extra drainage and aeration for the roots. Now, when you repot, don't water for at least 2 weeks. They will potentially look sad but it's important not to water. The roots will grow looking for water. After the 2 weeks, you can check for roots by giving the tiniest tug upward, if there is resistance, there is most likely roots forming. If it comes straight out, put it back and repeat the 2 weeks. Hope this helps and good luck. ๐ค๐๐ค
@YesWaiuatua7 This happens to mine periodically too and I just poke them back in the soil. They usually take. Iโve always assumed the piece got to heavy or was a pup that broke away from the root, but Iโm not sure. Iโll look forward to more responses ๐
@debbiedo thank you for the advice. Much appreciated!
Iโm going to try to do that and try a few smaller ones that fell out with it in water.
It was looking so good up until this.
Have a great day!!

@YesWaiuatua7 just pop them back in
Make sure the pot has drainage holes and aloe definitely doesn't need a lot of water

Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I checked the whole pot with and what is remaining in it and there is no root rot in that plant has been in the pot for five years. It does have drainage holes and I use the correct soil. I appreciate all of your help and suggestionsand I hope you have a wonderful day. Bless you all.
