I don’t see why not! I think they will like the more porous pots and I’d make sure the roots and soil they came in is good while I repot. 😊
Repoting them straight away shouldn’t be a problem at all and like @Elk said it’s a good opportunity to check the plant and make sure that it’s not root bound and theres no heavy soil stuck in between the roots that might be able to store too much water and contribute to root rot later on.
How long have you had them? I let mine acclimate to my home or their new location for a bit first before I mess with them. Definitely varies case to case, though. I just know I repotted some too soon, and I shocked them too much.
They'll be alright in plastic. These guys actually like water a little bit more than a desert cactus, and I've found they do well with a nonporous pot. Just make sure the soil drains quickly enough, and it'll be good to go.
