What should I do?

I just got this plant today has these brown leaves should I leave them alone or should I do something? #FiddleLeafFig #PlantAddict #helpneeded
8ft to light, indirect
11” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 days ago
You can leave them as is, or you can use a sharp pair of sterilized scissors to cut away the brown sections. Or you can remove the entire leaf, but if it only has some browning I'd probably leave it since it can still provide energy for the plant. Either way I'd keep it isolated from your other plants for at least two weeks so you can check it for pests (I always spray down new plants with insecticidal soap). Especially if you purchased it at a big box store.. @JenniferNoel just got a fiddle fig from Home Depot with a pretty nasty mealy bug infestation 😳
Also, depending on the condition of the soil and roots, you can either repot right away or give it a chance to acclimate to its new environment first. When I bring home succulents or any plant with very soggy soil, I usually repot sooner rather than later. Often the plant already has at least some root rot, so I want to get it out of that crappy moisture-retaining commercial soil asap. Fiddle figs like very well draining soil, so I typically use succulent/cacti soil with extra perlite mixed in plus a few handfuls of earthworm castings for some organic matter.
@stephonicle & @FunCentro21 - Yes ma’am! I sure did 🤯😡😓
@stephonicle thank youuu
@stephonicle okayyyy thank youu
@stephonicle i did check for pest I didn’t see anything at the time but im definitely separating it from my other plants. I did repot it but it was super dry dirt and healthy roots so I took as much dirt off and repotted it with the same dirt with perlite and peat moss.
@stephonicle earth worms huh I need to try that
It's a humidity issue (I believe ). Mine did the same thing... I tried a bunch of different things. --dont spiral on the Internet-- I tried neem showers (and I do mean shower) I tried watering more..rotted roots, I transplanted In different soil, dropped all the leaves! ( I was trying to turn it from bush to tree anyways.😕🫣 Totally shocked the poor thing trying to figure it out! At the end it just need/wanted a pebble tray! Lol haven't had a single crispy spot since! Even the couple leaves that hung on that I trimmed back to the green haven't browed in anyway! Hope that helps!
