Spring and early summer is best but if it seems like it’s outgrown it’s pot like it’s getting root-bound or watering doesn’t seem to water just goes straight thru, then it’s ok to do it in fall/ early winter and it’s normal for them to be mad at you for a few days after lol! Just be sure to look up the right soil mix for your zone/ climate! Oh and water it real well the day before you do it! Good luck!
Ok! Thank you!!
I would definitely check the roots first bands- they almost always put them on. I had one like yours- braided and not only did it have bands, but I found the braiding really stunted its growth. You don’t have to necessarily repot it- you could just pull it up to inspect the roots first bands bands and put it back in the soil/pot. Watch the caudex (trunks) and if you squeeze and they are hard- you’re good to go. If they feel squishy you have a problem. The bark will recover as it looks like you took the bands off in time. Be careful having it in direct light, the leaves can burn (east facing morning sun isn’t bad- mine love it). I’ve struggled with my 3 and our climates are different (I’m in Texas). Hope this helps helps!
