Venus Flytrap

So I bought this plant and brought it home over plane. I don’t know what happened but it is shriveled and brown. It’s winter where I am and I know they go through hibernation, but I don’t know if that’s it. Should I get rid of it? Please help!
1ft to light, indirect
3” pot without drainage
Last watered 1 month ago
Did you give it water at all? Was it rain, distilled or regular tap water?
I have been watering it every single time the top dries. I use tapwater, but I let it sit for three days to get rid of chemicals. As I’ve heard that you can do that to help.
I did take away the dead leaves and there is a green shoot.
My plant was also in direct sunlight for a while, but I moved it to inderext about 5 days ago.
@EcoPlantLover Hey, that thing about letting water sit out is not reliable! Water treatment places use very strong chemicals that don’t break down that easily. Some chemicals can and do break down, but not all of them. Chlorine, for example, will be removed over time when the water is sitting out, but nowadays, a stronger form of chlorine (chloramination process) is often used and it does not go away that easily… The only way to know to know for sure is to actually test the water with something that tests it.

That water itself also has other minerals, which is a no go for the carnivorous planties… so it is best to to go with distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water
Ok, thank you. What water would you suggest?
@EcoPlantLover Rain and distilled water achieve the same thing for a VFT. The significant difference is that one is free, depending on where you live, and the other costs money. I use freshly caught rainwater for all my carnivorous plants, which I collect with a rain barrel.
Thanks!
