When we set out to determine the best way to recommend fertilizer, we did some math magic to find the average nutritional content/strength of the most popular fertilizers out today. This is what we’ve used to guestimate your recommendations, though always check in with your fertilizer of choice to make sure there aren’t any special instructions!
There are two parts to your personalized fertilizer reminders: the frequency and the amount
The frequency is determined by your plant’s type and how much sunlight it gets, which both determine how fast it grows! The growth rate is what determines how quickly your plant uses up the nutrients in the soil.
The amount is determined by the size of your pot. The bigger the pot, the more soil it has, the more nutrients it will need! The amount will vary depending on which specific fertilizer you use, but we offer a rough guideline so you don’t add too much and burn those lil roots.

Thank you so much #GregTeam!! Hope to keep seeing more awesome updates soon 😇🌸
@RJG We need a rewards system for XP #GregFeedback
@RJG You get 56 likes without even trying 😩 that’d be useful for #SpringIntoSummer
@impeplants that's definitely something we're trying to figure out
@RJG Great! I have a pot with two plants and a closed terrarium with two also and the watering schedules don't always match perfectly 😅
@impeplants I hear yah. It's a complex problem to solve but we're definitely trying.
Fertilizing noob here. 🤓 It’s definitely something I’ve wanted to try on my foliage though so I bought some Arber Plant Food Concentrate. Will y’all have some guidance coming on with the how-tos? Such as, how do I measure it (is the amount listed in Greg with or without water added?), how much water, do I do it on a watering day or a non watering day, what happens if it drains out of the bottom, how will I know if my plant didnt like it or had an adverse reaction, etc.
@RJG no worries, I'm sure you'll do something great!
@kaleena so we tried to build our methodology so that it could be wildly applicable to many different types of fertilizers.
With this in mind the way I'm using the fertilizer reminders is similar to how I treat the watering reminders, as a guide on the proper window for fertilizing and a rough estimate of quantity based on your plants size, and light.
The fertilizer you bought will have those super specific instructions you're looking for.

@RJG where do we find it if we are on the test flight app?
@srdesigns if you go into TestFlight do you have an update? We have several builds behind.
@RJG yes. And I get notifications when there are new things to test
@RJG it just updated. I see the fertilizer reminders now 👍
@srdesigns oh good!
@shirleybong it'll be on android soon. Our team is working hard on it!!
@SubAlp yes, that would be super helpful
@JayFlaxman I'm looking forward to you seeing it Jay
@SubAlp So far, using a converter would help at the moment.
@lfolco Totally normal! Plants only need fertilizer when they’ve depleted the nutrients in their pot, which most houseplants do very slowly.
Adding too much can actually burn the roots, since high concentrations of fertilizer in the soil will draw moisture back out of the roots!
Nearly all houseplants growing indoors will only need a boost once or twice during the year!

@impeplants great suggestion;I need that with several plants in 1 pot.
@AthleteFlax everything good Cheryl?
@Kiersten Greg told me to fertilize 15mg. Does that mean 15mg of fertiler?
