πŸ“£βš‘οΈπŸ’© You asked, we listened! Introducing Fertilizer Reminders! πŸ’©βš‘οΈ πŸ“£
β˜€οΈ The days are long and growth is strong, and plants that need a nutrient boost will appreciate it now. Good thing your handy plant pal Greg has been hard at work learning when and how much to fertilize.

πŸ’© You can now turn on fertilizer reminders that are customized for each of your plants’ needs.

πŸ“† If you’ve already got a fertilizer schedule you love, you can also set a custom schedule. Just tap the gear icon in the Fertilizer section on the Plant Card!

πŸ‘‡ Let us know which fertilizer is your fave in the comments below!

When we set out to determine the best way to recommend fertilizer, we did some math magic to find the average nutritional content/strength of the most popular fertilizers out today. This is what we’ve used to guestimate your recommendations, though always check in with your fertilizer of choice to make sure there aren’t any special instructions!

There are two parts to your personalized fertilizer reminders: the frequency and the amount

The frequency is determined by your plant’s type and how much sunlight it gets, which both determine how fast it grows! The growth rate is what determines how quickly your plant uses up the nutrients in the soil.

The amount is determined by the size of your pot. The bigger the pot, the more soil it has, the more nutrients it will need! The amount will vary depending on which specific fertilizer you use, but we offer a rough guideline so you don’t add too much and burn those lil roots.
Thank you so much #GregTeam!! Hope to keep seeing more awesome updates soon πŸ˜‡πŸŒΈ
OMG YES I can't wait πŸ€“πŸ€“ this will make life so much easier πŸ˜…
Yes!!! It’s so easy to use. I love it!
@melodey IT'S HERE
@RJG did you post this as a Question just so you could have a bold title?
I’ve been waiting for this one! *Lizzo voice* mine are set for next week and I am excitedddd
@ABCD literally always πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ«£
@RJG πŸ™ˆ
@ABCD also who doesn't like 10 points for commenting ?
@RJG We need a rewards system for XP #GregFeedback
@RJG You get 56 likes without even trying 😩 that’d be useful for #SpringIntoSummer
Awesome! I've been waiting for this!! Thank you!

I also have a suggestion I thought of today: it would be cool to be able to include a feature where we can say that two plants share the same pot.
@impeplants that's definitely something we're trying to figure out
@RJG Great! I have a pot with two plants and a closed terrarium with two also and the watering schedules don't always match perfectly πŸ˜…
@impeplants I hear yah. It's a complex problem to solve but we're definitely trying.
Fertilizing noob here. πŸ€“ It’s definitely something I’ve wanted to try on my foliage though so I bought some Arber Plant Food Concentrate. Will y’all have some guidance coming on with the how-tos? Such as, how do I measure it (is the amount listed in Greg with or without water added?), how much water, do I do it on a watering day or a non watering day, what happens if it drains out of the bottom, how will I know if my plant didnt like it or had an adverse reaction, etc.
Like - how to’s and REALLY water it down (pun intended) for me because I literally know nothing.
@RJG no worries, I'm sure you'll do something great!
Amazing!!
@kaleena so we tried to build our methodology so that it could be wildly applicable to many different types of fertilizers.

With this in mind the way I'm using the fertilizer reminders is similar to how I treat the watering reminders, as a guide on the proper window for fertilizing and a rough estimate of quantity based on your plants size, and light.

The fertilizer you bought will have those super specific instructions you're looking for.
@kiersten added some more insights in her comment that's marked best post at the top.
Way neato!
Only reason I've ever wanted an apple phone is this app ugh!
Thank you! Love this and I love Arber’s products of fertilizer, fungicide, and insecticide
@RJG where do we find it if we are on the test flight app?
@srdesigns if you go into TestFlight do you have an update? We have several builds behind.
@RJG yes. And I get notifications when there are new things to test
@RJG it just updated. I see the fertilizer reminders now πŸ‘
@srdesigns oh good!
This is so exciting! You guys rock!
@shirleybong it'll be on android soon. Our team is working hard on it!!
Yay!
This is amazing!!!! Thank you!! πŸͺ΄
Exciting! 😊🌿
@Kiersten @rjg nice feature, one small criticism, however. Mine measures the fertilizer in grams. This is good science, but in practice I don’t have a scale. Could this be converted into tsp perhaps?
@RJG oh trust me friend…I’ve read the post from @Kiersten - among other things on the app AND articles online and somehow I’m still lost. Or maybe I’m just nervous I’m gonna mess it up and I’m way over thinking it? Who knows. πŸ˜‚
I’m so excited!!!
@SubTrop yes, that would be super helpful
@kaleena ping me on the day and we can talk about it !
Looking forward to seeing this on Android! πŸ˜ƒ
@JayFlaxman I'm looking forward to you seeing it Jay
@SubTrop So far, using a converter would help at the moment.
This is so awesome! Thank you, team, for continuing to be amazing!
Yay!
@RJG I am for some reason unable to update the app. I’ve checked the App Store and all over the app just in case it’s a setting and not a update… am I doing something wrong? πŸ˜‚
@tango just to confirm you're iOS ?
@RJG yep.
@tango if you go to settings what build are you on? It should be at the bottom of the screen in parentheses next to version.
@RJG AHA!! Just gave me the update. Problem solved! 😁
Lmk if anyone wants to borrow my cat 😁
Is it normal to only recommend fertilizer every 26 weeks? Almost all my plants are set to fertilize on that schedule (which puts the second one in December). A few are set to every 17 weeks.
@lfolco Totally normal! Plants only need fertilizer when they’ve depleted the nutrients in their pot, which most houseplants do very slowly.

Adding too much can actually burn the roots, since high concentrations of fertilizer in the soil will draw moisture back out of the roots!

Nearly all houseplants growing indoors will only need a boost once or twice during the year!
@impeplants great suggestion;I need that with several plants in 1 pot.
