A good way to check is if you have a skewer, insert it into the soil and remove it. If it comes out with soil stuck to it, it’s still wet and it isn’t time yet! If it’s just basically clean then your plant is dry, and it’s time to water!
If you don’t trust your instinct (like me) a moisture meter is your best friend!
To prevent overwatering you can also use a jug and measure out 300ml and place Mr Cheese in the bowl to bottom water! After about 30 mins he will of soaked up what he wants. That’s my foolproof way to prevent overwatering!
