Cat likes Bo a little too much!
Any recommendations on how to prevent my cat from nibbling on the leaves? I made a lemon lime spray and it is kind of working. But is there a diy concoction I can make to put on the pot? Thanks plant friends! #SpiderPlant

@lexindoorjungle they make a spray you can by on Amazon that makes the plant taste bitter to them. I can’t remember the name of it.

Sprinkle cayenne pepper around the leaves of houseplants and your cat will back away pretty quickly. Cats also hate the smell of citrus. Put orange and lemon peels in your pots along with the plants to help deter them. Another option is spraying the leaves directly with diluted lemon juice or orange oil.
I would love to have hanging plant. Hope this helps. πŸ˜…πŸ˜Š
@LittleCrow thanks for the suggestion! I’m renting my apartment and am trying to avoid putting any nails in my wall.
@KikiGoldblatt I will try the cayenne pepper recommendation! Thank you! :)
If you have window molding around the windows, you can use these hooks and they leave no holes. I got 10 plant hooks for $8 on Amazon (I'm pretty sure).

@sarahsalith that’s a genius idea, but I unfortunately don’t have window molding. Looks great though!
@lexindoorjungle also, depending on the plant, I've used heavy duty suction cups on the windows. Just another idea.
Try sprinkling Cayenne and Red Pepper atop your soil or wiping a solution of the mixed peppers on the outside of your container/pot.

@JustPlainDee thank you for the tip!
Honestly, I wrap mine in a clear bag. My Areca Palm is protected the same way.
Love the lemon lime spray idea for my cat!! She removed my spider plant from the planter entirely a few weeks ago. Luckily no roots were damaged & the plant is a survivor lol!!
@McWifey your cat?? J/k 😹
@lexindoorjungle they make cat grass you could buy kitty their own plant to nibble on. Just plant it in a heavy pot or they knock it over. My late meow used to like to rub her beard on it.
@Jilliebeanstalk thank you for the advice!
You can use 3M adhesive hooks- they're easy to remove and leave no marks
