You want to check to make sure that you aren't adding too much water when your soil is still wet. Greg can only give an educated guess when the soil is drying.
Also, it might sound like your plant needs more humidity. I know that Boston Ferns need a good amount of humidity to thrive.
How much sun is it getting? A lot of sun can dry it out, too.
