Root rot?

Hi, I beheaded my echeveria but I realised the root seems to be slightly black, is this a sign of root rot?

@plant10 not necessarily. They could be black from the soil. If they're mushy when you squeeze them, that's the for sure way of knowing if they're rotten
@Lifeis2short Oh ok thank you. The stem is not mushy so I'm guessing it's fine!?
hi Cayla, the black could be a sign of root rot but the only real way to tell is to take this out of its pot and to have a good look at the roots. If the roots are rotted, cut off the rotted black she roots and give this a good wash. I would recommend reposting this into a chunky mix, maybe using orchid bark or adding per light. This plant loves to be aired as well so I would recommend just dipping a skewer into the soil just to let this air out so it can breathe. Hope that helps :-) ๏ฟผ
@plant10 oh you meant the stem. Either way, stem or roots, the same rule applies lol
@louisahart Ok thank you for the advice!
@Lifeis2short Ok thank you!
