Can these two be roomates?

I brought my #monstera outside for 2 weeks or so, and when I went to bring it in there was an adorable little sprout of a plant that had somehow hopped into the pot from outside.

It was too adorable to uproot so I let  it stay when I shifted back indoors. The monstera and the 'weed' are both flourishing indoors.

Actually it looks nice how it fills in the bottom of the pot a bit.

Any reason not to allow them to be roomates for awhile?

I can’t ID that plant that’s volunteered to live with your Monstera 🤣.  But it will compete with the Monstera for water, nutrients, and room.  I’d say remove it before it gets too aggressive and perhaps put it in another pot maybe next to the big guy!  🤔 🤷‍♀️

I’d remove it if I were you for the same reason as @MariansOasis said. You want your Monstera to be getting all the goodness, not the little fella who has decided to set up shop in the same pot!

I really thought it was a basil plant. I like the idea of putting it in a pot nearby.

@Novaklutz I was really hoping it was basil. I might have to do a spearmint monstera, just as a proof-of-concept….
