Two-faced Sarrecenia

Does anyone know why my #sarracenia is more red on the window side and more white on the shaded side?
Also if anyone knows the biology behind this that would be really interesting!

Ooh... I have no idea, sorry! But it looks really cool! 🀩 I wonder if it's a kind of variegation...
@seymour you're my go-to guy for CPs! πŸ₯° Do you know what's happening with @Kileskus's Sarracenia? 🀞xx
@Kileskus Hi Kileskus
This is often what CPs do, they respond to high levels of light by showing a red coloring (rather like getting a tan). This can depend on the species of sarracenia. @Merranda might have more info for you.

That is so interesting! It looks super cool. I believe what is happening is that the side of the pitcher thats facing the window is receiving more light. So, it's turning red. The more light Sarracenia get the more intensely colored they are. So, because the one side faces away from the window it's not turning that bright red because it's not getting as much light.
It's super interesting though, never thought that they'd be able to be like split in half like that!
That’s really interesting and pretty damn cool. ☺️
@Kileskus I have the same! It's a hibrid called "Fiona" sarracenia flava x (sorry i don't remember) sometimes mine also splits in half like that
