Lucky bamboo black at bottom of stalks

My lucky bamboo’s leaves started turning yellow then some stalks started turning yellow down at the base. I removed it from its vase with water and rocks to clean and check the roots and stalks, the roots are not mushy or black, but the bottoms of the stalks are black (not mushy at all). The last picture on the right is the three main stalks that are rooted together. Is there anything can do to save? It’s my first of these and has been alive with me for 3 year. I’ve had it in water the entire time I’ve had it, use distilled water, keep the level just above the roots. Thank you @LuckyBamboo @Dracaenasanderiana

Not a bamboo expert by any means but the first thought I had was maybe bacteria or mold? Maybe clean the vessel with soapy water and scrub well. That way you get anything not visible to the naked eye. Rinse with H2O2 and then distilled water. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Thanks!
I had the yellowing at base problem, so I decided to just chop it to the nearest node up and propagate them. They are doing great!
@Dragonfly15 There are a number of reasons why your Lucky Bamboo is turning yellow. Here are a few: Overwatering: The most common cause, where the roots sit in stagnant water leading to root rot and yellowing stalks.
Direct sunlight: Excessive exposure to direct sunlight can burn the leaves and cause yellowing.
Poor water quality: Tap water with high levels of chlorine or fluoride can harm the plant.
Nutrient imbalance: Too much fertilizer can also cause yellowing.
Age: Older leaves on a mature plant may naturally turn yellow. Sometimes yellowing will occur on the plant. Stalks can turn yellow from bottom up, caused by too much fertilizer. If this is the case, replace with distilled water and don’t fertilize. But sometimes when the stalks turn yellow it is too late for the lucky bamboo to recover. It is often better to cut the green top off and start a new plant. If you have more than one stalk in a container, but only one is yellow, remove the yellow stalk and change the water. Happy Growing!
@Catplantaddict thank you!
