Mold and Yellowing, Wilting Leaves…

First time plant mom here. She was doing so well until she wasn’t :( Used to give one small ice cube/week per instructions. I am not watering anymore and have cut off the moldy parts and yellowing, droopy leaves. Any advice? TY!! #DappledSnowbrush #orchid

@Kathegreen face a window holding a compass, or if you have an iPhone, you can download a compass app! Or just use Google maps to see 😊 Different directions get sun at different times of day- some times are a lot more intense than others. Phals do best directly in a bright north facing window, or near an East facing window. West or South facing windows can get too harsh sunlight, so a few feet back is best, or blocked with a sheer curtain. Your phal may be struggling to utilize the moisture in the moss, so it stays wet and gets moldy. Moss holds water for quite a while. At this point, I would try repotting! MissOrchidGirl on YouTube is a huge help. She has videos on how to repot, what you need, and the ideal conditions for a phalaenopsis to thrive.
Where in relation to a window do you keep this orchid? What direction does the window face? Does the moss still feel wet/moist, or is it dry?
@Nataleaf thank you for your reply!! have had her for 4 months, in the beginning used to keep her in indirect, then direct sunlight. In the past two months I have moved her more than 6 feet from the window (floor to ceiling). Sorry newbie hereπŸ˜…πŸ˜…How do I tell which direction the light faces? I’ve taken the plant out of the pot to see the moss moisture. It feels like a VERY MILDY damp towel if I had to describe it. I’ve stopped watering altogether.
@Nataleaf gotcha! Thanks so much β€” that’s really helpful!!! I will try repotting. Also just found out that my window is North West facing.
