My plant has mold in it again!!

So I had to repot my pink princess due to a lack of drainage, and I put it in a self watering pot, and it's growing mold again! What should I do!!??

If it’s just on the surface you can spritz it with 1 part peroxide/ 3 parts water.

Nothing fancy just the kind found at any pharmacy wal mart etc. You probably already have it on hand for yourself. Mold is not uncommon for houseplants depending on their soil. Just give it a spritz as needed. By the way philodendrons are fine drying out almost completely between watering. Before you water just stick your finger knuckle deep in the pot if it feels cool, or damp just wait before watering again ❀️
Also want to point out that self watering pots are generally not good. This is because they keep the soil constantly moist. When soil is kept constantly moist there is a lack of oxygen. This lack of oxygen allows bacteria to grow. Then…… root rot.

I understand they are incredibly popular. But, that being said be careful and maybe don’t keep the water reservoir full so that it has a chance to dry out. I expect to get some hate for saying this but it is true and I hate to see people buying something that is generally a bad idea. πŸ’•
