@loveleelee Sparrow? πŸ€” I like it! What made you think of it?
Spark!
@LittleSongbird Nice. Because it looks like fire?πŸ”₯
@RoseRed Not quite sure! Lol I thought of arrows when I seen it πŸ˜…
@Macstracks Okay Chris, putting some skin in the game, I see. I’m really liking Redrum…
@LaSiguanaba πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@rosered or perhaps Fury 😍
@loveleelee Okay, I see it nowβ€”the stems are like red arrows. Nice!!!
@loveleelee Okay, Ari… I see you!! I really liking Fury!!!
@LaSiguanaba her ends are furry yet aggressive like fists of fury πŸ˜…
I corrected your @ btw lol
@loveleelee sorry about the typos πŸ˜³πŸ˜…
@loveleelee I like Fists of Fury… Thsts really cool….
@LaSiguanaba Wowowowow!!!!
@LaSiguanaba That's a red sundew, you can get "white" sundews like I have (green color) or these red ones. And if it is flowering, you may even get some seeds sprouting. Sundews are like the weeds of the CP world as they are such prolific propagators from their seed dispersal. I have a number of sundew plants as a result of seeds sprouting in eg VFT pots. Even a forked sundew popped up in a VFT pot and is now happily in its own pot.

I will give a good name some "dew' consideration LOL πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜… 🀣
Your post has been "dewly" noted LOL πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ 🀣
Spidey, it looks like several legs like a spider has! What came to mind first after looking at it lol!
Spitfire
@LaSiguanaba
So I am casually reading the Greg feed and I see two words "kick a#&s" and so Chris D'Amico was my immediate thought
I love Chris (Macstracks) on Greg and in Italian, D'Amico means friend, so to me the name fits perfect as Chris is a great friend.
And then there's the movie Kick A#&s with the character dressed in a hot πŸ”₯ red outfit just like your sundew so in summary
1. Kick A#&s Name
2. Red Sundew
3. Chris the man Macstracks
4. Friend (or friends)
5. Hot Red Superhero outfit (ever seen Watchmen?)
6. Red Cape Sundews Rule

...please considerπŸ™ @Macstracks @JenniB81 #theamigos
Sunny🌞, Ares, Nova
@LaSiguanaba Reminds me of an octopus. Hank from Finding Dory
@Seymour Still working on the name selection… too many options to choose from….. I need…. More options!!!!πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@Suzanthophile I’m liking the connection!
@LadyBrittlebush I like it snd totally see it!
@ILoveMyPlants πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
@LaSiguanaba Rose Red
What, more πŸ„ πŸ”” !!!
Well, my female choice of name was Beatrix "the Bride" Kiddo (codename: Black Mamba), she is the protagonist of the martial arts films Kill Bill: Volumes 1 and 2, but you can call her The Bride πŸ‘°β€β™‚ or Beatrix (not Potter, she's not Harry's bride)
You may notice the yellow ting on tour Red Cape Sundew πŸ’› which matches some of the Bride's πŸ‘°β€β™‚ outfits and the red is her top as shown above and being a Bride (with a Samurai sword can be bloodthirsty work (as can be being a sundew)
Some trivia:
She is portrayed by Uma Thurman. In 2010, Entertainment Weekly named the Bride the 99th-greatest character of the preceding 20 years, and in 2015 Empire named her the 23rd-greatest film character of all time.
The Bride's πŸ‘°β€β™€ name was only revealed in the second movie and her aliases were
Black Mamba
Arlene Machiavelli
The Bride
Mommy
So I would also ask you to consider Arlene Machiavelli.
So is this suggestion a cut above the rest?
Is it a marriage made in heaven, a slice of heaven?
@Seymour I see someone is stepping up his game!!! Those are some GREAT suggestions!!! I particularly like The Brideβ€”very evocative snd making my decision a lot tougher…. πŸ€”πŸ˜†πŸ€”
Red Hornet comic book hero
@LaSiguanaba don’t ask me why but Lucinda and she’s stunning 🀩
@LadyBrittlebush @ILoveMyPlants @Seymour @Macstracks @LittleSongbird @loveleelee flowerFairy">@flowerFairy @Suzanthophile @PoisedAlbo Thank you everyone for all the great name suggestionsβ€”you made it really hard to choose!!!! But like Highlander, there can be only one!!! So, without further ado: Meet my new carnivorous friend, Redrum!!!!
@LaSiguanaba 😍😍😍😍😍😍 It just fits so well.. IMO πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Welcome RedRum🀩🀩
@Macstracks well, I’m a big Stephen King fan and The Shining is probably my favorite novel by him. πŸ˜‚
@Macstracks That rocks nice job ! I take it you saw the shining πŸ‘€
@LaSiguanaba yes πŸ™Œ the Shining. I love Stephen King you hear about him all the time here in New England. I was going to suggest Redrum but I noticed @Macstracks already beat me to it πŸ€ͺ
@PoisedAlbo I lived in Boston for years and feel a special affinity for New England.
@PoisedAlbo πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€œπŸ€› best book ever @LaSiguanaba JS
@LaSiguanaba @Macstracks
Here's Redrum!
Chris the best of names ever, it has to be the one and only name to go with. I did have fun but so pleased you one as you deserved it with such a great name! It was shining for all to see. Worthy of a drink at the bar 🍸
Just don't go crazy on us LOL 😜 πŸ€ͺ 😏
@PoisedAlbo And The Shining, both movie and film (tho VERY different from each other) are both excellent, tho there are parts that many not have aged well. I still love it!
@Macstracks Right? It still scares the crap out of me!!!
@Seymour πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ man it just popped into my head like out of no where…I was searching the house for the book. I know I have it and want to read it again now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@Seymour Have you seen the movie or read the book? The film is by Kubrick and is excellent tho very Kubrickian.
@Macstracks Me too… I have it on my kindle (most are my books are STILL not unpacked) and am seriously thinking of rereadingβ€”- it’s been years.
@LaSiguanaba I’m a little over an hour from there actually going to visit Boston in a couple of weeks when my daughter comes up. Going to take the Amtrak Nor’easter
@LaSiguanaba that book is always scared me, but it starts to scare me in different ways as I get older lol it’s crazy. I love that book
@PoisedAlbo Lucky!!! I miss Boston so much!!!
@Macstracks @LaSiguanaba I’m a Needful Things fan πŸ˜‰
@Seymour you always have the best memes
@Macstracks Stephen King is really good. He has a way of tapping into our fears very effectively… and he always tells a good story
@PoisedAlbo @Macstracks Yes, Needful Things is good and made antique shops scary for me! πŸ˜‚
@LaSiguanaba of course, isn't it obvious? Big Kubrick fan and Stephen King. Have a great book by Stephen how he became a writer, worth a read! I can give you the name of the book if you're interested. He is an interesting person and how he came up with his books eg his first big hit.
Speaking if Kubrick, have you ever seen Barry Lyndon. He direct it after holting his Napoleon movie ( hence Ripley Scott's recent effort). You might like Barry Lyndon given your photographer's eye πŸ‘
@PoisedAlbo 😱😱😱😱 amazing book
@Macstracks Great book and movie, did you see the more recent sequel to the Shining? Not bad! Stephen King is an interesting person but so many great books turned into films eg It, Christine, Carrie...etc etc etc
! @LaSiguanaba assume you have read the book and seen the movie too !
@Seymour I knew you would be a Kubrick fan. I like him but his movies scare meβ€”there is a coldness in his films, an aloofness. I’ve also heard he was awful to his actors. So I’m very torn about Kubrick too generally a fan….
@Seymour Yes, read and seen both πŸ˜‚
@PoisedAlbo Thanks Audrey we aim to please πŸ™. Didn't we connect over some name suggestions eg Ripley/Ridley Scott and all those plants you wanted names for? What fun πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚ 😹
@Seymour doctor sleep is awesome πŸ‘
@Seymour yes speaking of Ripley I’m getting her replacement in a few days and since I planted her corm. I’m thinking of naming the new one Tre Ripley. What do you think?
@LaSiguanaba Kubrick has been misunderstood in many ways. I think his perfectionism eg Eye Wide Shut led to Nicole and Tom's break up or st least put pressure on them. Good movie despite T.C. ( that's Tom Cruise, NOT Top Cat). I have a collection of Kubrick films eg Dr Strangelove, Barry Lyndon ( not many people seem to know this one). So the best thing is I also have the behind the scenes documentaries. I don't mind if he torturing an actor provided the actor was TC LOL πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ˜ΉπŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ‘βœ”οΈπŸ˜€
@PoisedAlbo I know it was a bad Alien film (Alien Resurrection) but what about Winona Ryder as Annalee Call or even Ripley 8, a human-alien hybrid clone, imaboard a vessel, Auriga, along with space pirates. πŸ‘½

I need photos at some stage.
I like Lucinda
I also visit Boston, it was on my Bucket List! LOL
@Seymour I hear what you’re saying about him being misunderstood, but don’t you find his films a bit sterile? Even looking at them, his use of empty spaces and the color whiteβ€”I’m looking at you 2001 a space odysseyβ€”creates a feeling of isolation and loneliness. It can be depressing to me at times, and I have to be in the right mood to enjoy his films.
@LaSiguanaba if you haven't seen it, check out Barry Lyndon with its clever lighting and themes.
I can see what you mean. Kubrick kinda needed someone looking over his shoulder and say he needed to get out of his own head
a bit. Some criticism I have for the movie I saw today, Civil War. Doctor Strangelove is good fun, love Peter Sellers (a la Pink Panther)
@Seymour Barry Lyndon has been on my β€˜watch list’ for yearsβ€”I need to get to it! I do like Kubrick, but he’s tough. My favorites are Strangelove and The Shining.
@Seymour Annalee or Auriga? You decide I’ll let you name her my friend
Mine is Ursula and she, too, is about to bloom. (I swear she is inciting the other carnivorous plants in her vicinity; five of the seven VFTs near her are also making an attempt.) Really fun plants. Good luck with this deliberation!
@BravePinkpoui I LOVE the name Ursula for a droseraβ€”great choice. I decided to go with Redrum! I’m a big Stephen King fan and I liked The Shining a lot. Plus, it kind a fits a carnivorous plant I think, 😁
This post may be in the running for the longest continuous conversations about all things plants and more.πŸ˜€
@plantstate Yup, that’s how we roll on Greg!!! Lost in the weeds!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜
Where did you buy it? It looks healthy
@Dorca I bought it at a local plant store where I live. I was very lucky because they’d just gotten a shipment in!!!! πŸ˜‰
