I can't get my otherwise thriving anthurium to flower...

#Anthurium
1ft to light, direct
7โ€ pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
@RespectableCorn if your Painter's Palette (Anthurium) isn't blooming, it's likely due to insufficient light, wrong fertilizer (too much nitrogen), low humidity, or just needing a rest, so provide bright, indirect light, use a bloom-boosting fertilizer (higher phosphorus), increase humidity (60%+), maintain consistent moisture, and be patient, as they can take time to re-bloom after a rest period.
Key Adjustments for Blooming:
Light: Move it to a spot with bright, filtered light (like an east-facing window) for more blooms; too little light favors leaf growth.
Fertilizer: Use a balanced liquid fertilizer with more phosphorus (the middle NPK number) every few weeks during the growing season, or a bloom booster, to encourage flowers over leaves.
Humidity: Aim for 60% humidity using a humidifier or pebble tray, as these tropical plants love moisture in the air.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy; allow the top inch to dry slightly before watering again.
Temperature: Keep it warm (65-80ยฐF / 20-27ยฐC) and avoid cold drafts or sudden drops.
Patience: Plants go through resting phases; if it's otherwise healthy, it's likely just resting and will bloom again with consistent care.
Repotting: Only repot when root-bound (every 2-3 years) in an orchid-style mix, as they prefer being slightly snug.
Hope this helps
If it's thriving, leave it. Plants can't flower all the time. They need breaks from blooming to recover the used up energy. Just be patient, it'll flower when it wants to
