Hi Kelly! Too much direct sunlight can fade their vibrant colors, while too little light can cause them to lose their signature spots. Polka dot plants will have the best leaf color if you give them bright light but keep shaded from direct sun as that can scorch the leaves and cause the color to fade. Indoors, place your plants in bright, filtered sunlight of an east- or west-facing window and rotate regularly. Mine is just a baby but she’s on my patio getting morning sun, and shade the rest of the day. To promote a bushier growth, cut or pinch back the top two leaves on each stem weekly. You also want to get rid of leaves on the soil as decaying leaves pro@ores fungus and bugs. I hope this helps!
Thanks Catherine for this post, I have my polka dot plant in a container with other plants outside. Morning sun and more, then half the day shade. I didn’t know much about the plant so I appreciate your information. Mine are doing well but I was just lucky instead of knowing what I was doing with them! πŸ˜†
