Staked my flower stem too soon?

#PhalaenopsisOrchid Iโ€™m worried I got over excited and put my new flower stem in a clip too early. It is about 4 inches from the base. Thoughts?

Yepโ€ฆ how is it going to grow taller ?? I honestly hardly ever support my spikes unless they are a big mature phal .. usually they do ok until they get taller and depending on how many blooms the spike has โ€ฆ
Should I remove?
@DivineHogpeanut I think you should
@Imissmydeaddog thank you!
I removed. Hope it didnโ€™t stress it out!
Personally I thought stalks grow from the top?? That is to say, not stretching like a fidget toy but just. Growing. Up. Maybe I'm wrong there but it's not like you put a steel cap on it ๐Ÿ˜‚
It would probably have been okay, the stem keeps growing from the top. But as stated it isn't really necessary, until it starts growing long in the wrong direction. So your clip wouldn't really do much.
But no harm done, the only risk is you damaging it while managing it.
