Help my Alocasia! #AlocasiaAddicts
I have had her for about 2 weeks and she has been struggling! Curling leaves, drooping and weak. She has been under a grow light the whole time and I had a humidifier about 2.5 feet away and she was still declining. After a couple days of it being much closer she has worsened.

Hi @SamBaines maybe the grow light is too much direct light. Hereβs an article that might help: https://www.thespruce.com/grow-alocasia-indoors-1902735
Hi Bethany! It sounds like your Alocasia is having a tough time adjusting to its new home. Here are a few things you can try:
* Light: Alocasias love bright, indirect light. Make sure your grow light is strong enough and not too close to the plant. You can try moving it a bit further away to see if that helps.
* Humidity: Alocasias need high humidity, ideally around 60-80%. The humidifier should be closer to the plant, like within a foot or two. You can also try misting the leaves daily or using a pebble tray to increase humidity.
* Watering: Alocasias like to be kept evenly moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Make sure the pot has good drainage to prevent root rot.
* Temperature: Alocasias prefer temperatures between 65-85Β°F (18-30Β°C). Avoid placing the plant near cold drafts or hot vents.
It may take some time for your Alocasia to adjust to its new environment. Be patient and keep an eye on it. If the leaves continue to decline, you may need to consult a plant specialist.
