Hi there, this is tough to choose which possibility of problem is causing a yellowing bottom leaf. So, here’s my list check that soil for wetness to about halfway down. Use a moisture meter if you can get on if not use your fingers to the second knuckle. Personally self watering pots I find to be too easy to cause root rot. The next thing check to see if that leaf is crispy. If it is, it may be under watered or sporadically watered. The third I learned from Greg is a lack of minerals or nitrogen I’ll put a link: https://greg.app/aglaonema-pink-splash-yellow-leaves/#:~:text=Your%20Aglaonema%20could%20be%20on,or%20magnesium%20can%20cause%20yellowing. I hope my check off list helps you with yours! All the best!
Thank you! It doesn’t seem to be wet and isn’t crispy - I’ll try adding some coffee grounds - could be stress from the shipping too maybe?!
Plants often lose older leaves when they make new ones. I have noticed this about Aglaonemas I have. While they are yellowing, the plant is getting all the nutrients from it before it is discarded @GoldSpicebush
@AC73LoveCats thank you I hope so!
@Pineapplemom I agree with you on self-watering pots, not all plants work with them. I'm being very careful with mine as to who gets one.
@GoldSpicebush I find that shipping often causes issues bc they're almost always too wet. On mine, the rest recovered after it dried out a bit & I removed the yellowed ones 😊
@GoldSpicebush I’m so glad it’s not wet! Plants can be temperamental and the shock of shipping didn’t cross my mind!

I hope to see some pics of your Aglaonema’s progress soon!

Best plant vibes!
Doing much better! I left the yellowing leaves for a bit and then took off. I have a new leaf and another on the way! I think it was shock or else just a normal yellowing to use the old leaf energy. I’m thinking about growing this in just water eventually but if it keeps doing well here I’ll leave it.
