Is banana peel water good or bad for a musa banana tree?

I've been using banana peel water for a few weeks now and I wonder if it could be causing more harm than good. I put filtered water in a jar with 2 cut-up banana peels (no stem nothing but peel) inside and stirred it occasionally. After 3 days I remove the banana peels and give the water to my tree at the base. #banana

Hello Jayden ☺️
Hopefully the below can help you.

Nutrient Balance: While banana peel water adds potassium, it might not provide all the nutrients your tree needs. Over time, relying solely on it could lead to nutrient imbalances. It's best to use it as a supplement rather than the primary source of nutrients.
Fermentation: Leaving the banana peels in water for three days can cause fermentation, which might introduce bacteria or fungi that could harm the plant.
Moderation: Using banana peel water occasionally is fine, but overuse could lead to problems like root rot if the soil becomes too saturated or if the water isn’t properly aerated.

Lastly, I would personally also consider what that peel has been in contact with.
I hope this helps
Thanks, I’ll use it less often now, more like once a month. @SnailDiva
