Repotting Rootbound Swiss Cheese Vine
This is little cheese, my latest monstera addition… It's been about 3 to 4 weeks since I brought him home and decided to take a look at his roots, oh mannnn, am I going to be here untangling for a while. Given the size of his roots in the 6 inch nursery pot, should I move to a similar 8 inch plastic nursery pot or a 10** inch terracotta that has a little more depth?
Oops! Forgot the picture! @poisonivy213 🌿🤍
@kscape 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
@kscape thanks!!! Can you tell I haven't had enough coffee today?! 🙃🫠
@poisonivy213 You and me both 💀💀
@poisonivy213 Based off the picture, I’d say 10” terracotta! Best for air circulation, drainage, moisture control (with potting mix, bark and perlite) and overall just great to use porous pots 🪴✨

Edit: #RootPorn 😩💕
@kscape it's actually a 10" (I edited to add another picture!)
@poisonivy213 i go with the 3rd pot! 🪴😊
@kscape thanks so much!! He's doing so well, I was second guessing myself since my first Swiss cheese isn't doing so hot! 😕
@poisonivy213 well lucky you, with this one I can tell you’ve been doing an amazing job! Those roots are so nice and clean! 😍🤍

@WellmadeCarrot wow, beautiful!! I'm just starting to, definitely adding that one to my #wishlistplant
1st you need to see how larger the root system is with out the soil, don't go up more than an inch or so but once the sil is gone you may find you don't need a larger pot after all
