@ChosenPatchouli I don’t have an answer about the roots, as I don’t have this type of cactus (yet I would imagine when they get long enough it would be fine). I am wondering if it is mealy bugs. The white fuzz ball, if you dip Qtip in alcohol, and swipe at it, and you see a grey bug, that’s what it is. (Mealy bugs excrete a waxy white powder and that’s why they look white until you touch them with alcohol) It could be a fungus which would require an antifungal treatment and increased air circulation. When my succulents got mealy bugs, that’s what the first indication looked like. Whatever it is I would quarantine it away from any other plants.
