I use those with my succ plants. NYC weather is a dry cold. You can wrap fleece around the pot ti keep it warmer. Keep it away from windows. Try to remember that this plant likes overhead lights and only likes water when the pearls are a bit less robust. I also use an oscillating heater to warm up the air for them while Iβm gone. Right now, 65Β°F is ideal for them since they tend to grow in that temperature. Just watch the watering and make sure you arenβt overdoing the lighting as an alternative heat source. The plant knows the weather outside and adapts very slowly. Just donβt let the soil get too cold so water with warm water and wrap the pot with fleece to help the soil stay warm. Donβt sit ut on stone countertops, windowsills, not any surface you feel is cold to the touch but donβt set it near a hot heater. Look into heat mats to help them get warm if itβs too cold. You can find AC Infinity heat mats on Amazon that are for seedlings but these will help your plant soil stay warm if you set it on low to medium. I had to do that after a sudden cold rainfall and Iβm happy to say my babies survived after a few days on the heat mats. If itβs too cold in NYC, Iβd definitely look at the heat mats. Btw, Iβm a New Englandsf so Iβm familiar with how it gets up there. Best of luck! πΏ
Wow thanks for such a detailed response!!! I JUST got the plant yesterday and the soil is completely dry to the touch but the pearls look fine so Iβm planning on some room temp distilled water later. Then setting up the grow lamp. I keep the room between 60-75 and the plant is on top of a shelf adjacent to the window that has a small draft so Iβll keep an eye if a heat mat is needed but I love the fleece idea! Do you just wrap it around the pot?
