Fertilizer- as in liquid, pellets, or soil?
If we are supposed to add 496 mg of fertilizer, does that include something like miracle grow potting soil? Or Stagreen all purpose pellets? Or specifically a liquid fertilizer dissolved in (roughly) 2 cups of water? Is there a Greg fertilizer that this refers to specifically? Or just feed the plant according to the package directions of whatever plant food we have on hand?

When an instruction specifies a small amount like '496 mg of fertilizer,' it almost always refers to a liquid fertilizer or a water-soluble granular fertilizer that you dissolve in water, not potting soil with nutrients or slow-release pellets. "Greg fertilizer" isn't a common specific brand; it's best to follow the instructions on whatever liquid or water-soluble plant food you have on hand. To apply 496 mg, check your fertilizer's package directions for dosage per gallon/liter and calculate how much would provide 496 mg of nutrients. If precise measurement is difficult, a safer approach for sensitive plants like the Rattlesnake Plant is to dilute your liquid houseplant fertilizer to half or quarter strength compared to package directions and then water your plant with that solution. Always defer to your product's instructions for the correct dilution ratio for a consistent, gentle feed.
