Dying out on me

So... it was doing well, and I seem to have a history of killing these vines... its leaves are starting to turn yellow and fall off. It is still trying to put out more leaves though. How can I keep it alive? #Monstera

Have you taken a look at how the roots are doing and have you ever repotted it since getting it? If so, in what kind of soil? (:
Mine was recently doing that until I gave it some balanced fertilizer
My cheat is putting the aerial roots in water for a few days, and give the main plant only distilled or rain water. I agree with Ryan @VerifiedChia74 because if the plant is older than six months, it might need nutrients (since the nursery soil may be depleted) if you haven’t repotted. Also, is anyone else concerned about nursery soil being too dense for the monstera? If the plant is no longer in a greenhouse, won’t the soil stay wet too long?
@kapuac there are plenty of aerial roots and they're growing for sure. It hasn't been reported either. What soil would you recommend?
@verifiedchia74 @teacher that's an interesting thought, aerial roots in water.. I wouldn't have thought that, I'll try it! Maybe I should report it as well and let the fertilizer from the new soil do its thing? The soil it's in is pretty light. What soil would you recommend putting it in?
I would definitely take a look at the roots, the soil that comes from the store can be very dense sometimes. She also could be root bound, but if not it’s still a good chance to inspect the roots for any problems. If you repot, use a chunkier mix so their roots can breathe. You can add perlite and orchid bark to your soil to make them more chunky (I buy mine at Walmart or Lowe’s). If she’s root bound you can repot her in a slightly larger pot with drainage. (:
@Kapuac thanks! I'm going to report her :) 🀞 it works
